Since opening its terrace house doors a few weeks ago, Bar Chinois has become a foodie haven with fusion cocktails, French vino and Asian brews to match, all day, everyday. At Chinois, sip on champagne from midday, drink Coco Chanel teapot cocktails like they're going out of fashion and indulge in many a French-Asian fusion delights.

A week in the life of Bar Chinois jump starts with Croque Monsieur & Madame Mondays, settles in with Creperie Tuesdays, lands on Baguette & Beer Wednesdays, continues with Wine and Cheese Thursdays, revels in Chin Chin Fridays, relaxes with Café Noir Saturdays and finishes up with Lazy Mary Sundays.

On #CroqueMonsieur&MadameMondays local Chinois folk sit back with a French Martini in hand and enjoy a Croque Monsieur with smoked ham, gruyere cheese, béchamel & cauliflower pickle (or go Madame and add egg).

Come #CreperieTuesdays, one settles in with Tokyo crepes done the Chinois way before getting over that Wednesday hump with the Chinois Baguette making a difference – Sticky Pork Belly with camembert, caramelised onion, pickled cucumber, red chili, daikon, coriander, mint and chicharron. Accompany this with an Asian brew and that's #Baguette&BeerWednesdays sorted.

And, why not do the French way and wind down with #Wine&CheeseThursdays over a bottle of house vino and cheese plate for two before saying #ChinChin to Fridays with champagne cocktails and chips a la Chinois for all. Whether it's polenta chips with béarnaise or kimchi pomme frites topped with gruyere cheese, rumour has it they're damn good (excuse our French).

The cocktails go down pretty smoothly too. Gentlemen (and ladies, mind you) enjoy the attraction of La Dame Chinois; a mix of vodka, coconut rum, lychee liqueur, fresh lime, topped with grapefruit soda, jalapeno, red chilli and lemongrass, while others pair off with a Monsieur Earl old-fashioned with earl grey bitters. Those who fancy themselves to a Madame Rouge with amaro, scotch, fresh lime and strawberries will not wake up disappointed either.

On the weekend, Chinois revellers feast on an all-day brunch from 9 – 4pm with a side of infamous wasabi avocado, and more importantly champagne. Indulge in Chinoiserie style porridge with pearl barley, coconut cream, passionfruit curd, pecan praline and pomegranate, or treat yourself to French toast soldiers with kaya, cinnamon and corn flakes. Or, if you have a savoury tooth, enjoy a Smoked Trout Omelette with shallot, goats curd, watercress, grapefruit salad and sourdough, and don't forget the champagne. #ChampagneBrunch

From 12 – 4pm High Teapots and Scones are in high demand. Sip on a Coco Chanel or Rum Bisou teapots accompanied by sweet and savoury scones and let the good times roll before knocking back Café Noir Espresso Martinis and listening to live music from local artists every Saturday from 6 – 9pm 'cause it's #CafeNoirSaturdays

And, if you're still left wanting more, wander down on Sundays and laze about with a Lazy Wasabi Mary topped with an Egg and Pork Brioche in hand because it's out with Lazy Susan and in with #LazyMarySundays at Chinois.

So, take some Chinoiserie, add some 'hippendale, throw in some Spice, and take a trip to Bar Chinois - the terrace house bar bringing hip and chic to Kensington Street all day, every day because its five o'clock somewhere.

Bar Chinois is located at 16 Kensington Street and is open Monday to Friday 12pm – late, and 9am – late on Saturday and Sunday.
