"We didn't think that Kensington Street could get any better. That was our first mistake…" Truer words have never been spoken as we enter the brisk and busy month of July. We're in the thick of it now, folks. Winter has well and truly set into the nooks and crannies of Kensington Street, which continues to grow as a curious enclave of colour, vibrancy and bustle.

A teaspoon rings against the lip of cup of Kakawa hot cocoa, steam drifts from Spice Alley windows baring brimming bowls of ramen, an easy jazz tune ambles out the front door of Bar Chinois and drifts down Kensington Street.

Wield your forks, don your scarves and charter a passage through Kensington Street from morning til night to warm yourself and your tastebuds.

Since boutique shoe shop EOD's recent launch on Kensington Street, they have effortlessly established themselves as Chippendale's most chic new addition.

Contemporary and cool, but not immodest, Extraordinary Ordinary Day is creating shoes to celebrate the extra in every ordinary day. Former architect and the brand's creative director Ashley Lim, commits herself to fashioning memorable and stylish hand-crafted shoes that live full time on your feet, never in the corner of a closet.

A 9-5 work day, night on the town, bicycle ride, a celebration, EOD's shoes are as comfortable as your favorite sneaker crafted with luxurious finesse.

KERRY CANDARAKIS
ALCHEMY
OPENING NIGHT THURSDAY 28 JULY 6-8PM

'Alchemy' refers to the transformation of material into an artwork. The use of brilliant colour, the characteristics of opalescence and fragmentation meld into large flowing masses.

Kerry Candarakis utilizes a two-dimensional surface to employ colour that creates an ephemeral hidden world. The harmony in her work is in the hidden and overlooked aspects; suggestive, but not definitive, of an internal physical journey.
