Nestled in a hub of renewal, Kensington Street's Old Rum Store is undergoing a grand renaissance.

A far cry from its days as a storehouse for the hops barrels of the Carlton United Brewery, the four-storey complex emerges from its cocoon next month as a graceful testament to gastronomy as an art form and nourishment of the body as the pinnacle of our contemporary collective culture.

Our notorious eat-street brings you its newest culinary experience at The Private Kitchen, where the diner experience is championed, and the chef is yours, and only yours, for the night.

A bespoke pop-up restaurant, The Private Kitchen will showcase a series of internationally acclaimed chefs, on rotation, into the new year. The Private Kitchen brings Sydney-siders a mouthful of international zest and Michelin-starred flair.

The first to proudly take the helm is Stanley Wong, a celebrated chef whose curriculum vitae includes a number of applauded restaurants worldwide, including Michelin-starred Jean Georges Vongerichten's Jean Georges and Spice Market in New York, and the prestigious Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong.

From behind your private pass, Chef Wong crafts delectable an elaborate meals exclusively for you and your guests. Launching on Thursday 8 December 2016, The Private Kitchen is offering you the exclusive opportunity to have an internationally acclaimed chef cater your events in this unique dining environment. The venue is available for private seated and standing events of up to 120 people.

It is the perfect venue for all types of functions whether it be up-coming Christmas parties, corporate events, birthdays, engagement parties, product or business launches, and many more.


 


 

The space itself is located on the third floor of the newly refurbished Old Rum Store and also provides the option for perfectly paired beverage packages by their partner Handpicked wines.  Personally catered to your unique event, Handpicked wines will take you on a trip of the world one bottle at a time.
