Kakawa Chocolates

The last year has been a fruitful one on Kensington Street. Though we couldn't be more ready to welcome in 2017, which brings with it an abundance of culinary and artistic delights.

We would like to ring in 2017 with some sweet odes to summer on our street.

Chinese New Year 2017

In the theme of abundance, Kensington Street will welcome in the Year of the Rooster next month, Saturday 4 February 3-8pm, filling our street with a plethora of flavour-filled expressions of Chinese culture in Sydney.

To captivate your senses, we are filling the air with the scents and sizzles of the most decadent and delicious fusion foods.

Watch with awe as talented chefs from Chefs Gallery mesmerisingly hand-pull noodles before your eyes. Then meander into Holy Duck! and weave through Spice Alley to satiate your hunger pangs with some Asian hawker-style dishes.

Try your hand at a skilled game of Mahjong. Or, forego the game of strategy and treat yourself to some edible chocolate Mahjong tiles from Kakawa. No patience required.

And, with something strictly for the adults, Bistrot Gavroche will have you muddled as a headless chook with the Red Rooster. Vodka, Vermouth, Whiskey bitters and a dash of grapefruit will get you clucking.

Make sure to #CNYonKensingtonSt your fabulous foodie photos for your chance to win our Instagram competition.

Perch yourself in the sunshine, amidst the canopy of lanterns, as you soak up the sun and delight in the heady aromas wafting from the hawker-style diners that line Spice Alley.

If you close your eyes, you may find yourself on the banks of the Mekong, or the wet markets of Hong Kong.

The beauty of Spice Alley is that you can be transported to multiple places at once, without the travel fares. Pick and choose your favourite dishes from the plethora of vendors, and traverse the Asian landscape from your courtyard table.

Open every day this summer, 11am - 10pm.

Madame Yuzu

As the air thickens with scents of summer, the proverbial cherry blossoms appear in a tranquil little corner of Spice Alley.

Rearing their heads for another summer season, Kyo-To's selection of Japanese ice-creams come out to play again.

Fan yourself down after your hot wok delights with a spoonful of icy lychee breeze.

Kakawa Chocolates

Cool, creamy, and wedged snugly between two biscuits.

Kakawa Chocolates turns down the heat with their delectable ice-cream sandwiches as Sydney's weather ramps up for a scorching summer ahead.

Pop in to Kakawa's boutique for all of your sweet tooth needs, and lose yourself in a refreshing sea of flavour possibilities.

Holy Duck!

Like a duck to water, we have found our new pond.

Fresh, funky and flippin' moreish, Holy Duck!'s culinary line-up has summer feasting down to a tee.

Kensington Street's new Chinese diner slash burger joint artfully throws together traditional flavours with zesty contemporary twists.

Celebrate summer with duck done many ways. Because… Why the duck not?!
